CONIFER AND HEDGE PRUNING
We can prune your hedges and conifers of any size. We are specialists in this. We can:
Reduce height and/or width
Re-establish an overgrown hedge
Create a hedge of a size a customer can easily manage to maintain themselves
Completely remove a hedge E.g. to establish a fenceline border or increase light allowance
Establish a long term cost effective solution to your hedge care
TREE PRUNING
Our skilled arborists can carry out a number of methods of tree pruning. We can carry out:
Crown Raise
(or Lift) - Removal of the lowest branches to raise the crown of the tree. This can be used to give more light, achieve
a uniform height from the ground, or give better access for traffic/pedestrians underneath.
Crown Thinning
- Highly specialised technique involving careful selection of secondary branches. This can be used to improve the structure
of the crown, to allow more light to filter through, and to reduce the wind resistance and loading on the limbs of the tree
Crown Reduction - Removal of the outer section of the crown (the ends of the branches) to achieve a smaller size
canopy. Again, a highly specialised technique used to maintain the natural shape of the tree, whilst reducing the spread
to allow more clearance for structures, or for when a tree has outgrown it's location.
Directional Pruning
- Used to encourage a tree to grow away from any buildings or pathways
Crown Clean/Deadwooding - Removal of
dead branches from the tree to lessen the risk of fallen limbs. Also used to eliminate any potential source of fungal infection
to preserve the trunk, and main branches, ensuring the trees' survival

We use rigging techniques to take the trees down
We can do this in confined spaces and with fragile
structures beneath
We can also take the stump down to ground level or completely remove it by grinding it
